Hi I’m glad to hear from you I have a question I’ve got to spend $2 million on my account advice, before June this year. I wanted to know what you can suggest i do?

Hi Ronaldo,

Sorry for the long reply, traveled a lot in recent days .

There is tutorial which explains motivation behind Scorex 2.0 https://github.com/ScorexFoundation/ScorexTutorial . Unfortunately, concrete details are not covered there yet.

For exploring concrete examples, please take a look to "hybrid" example in the repository (implementing TwinsCoin , a hybrid PoW/PoS blockchain https://eprint.iacr.org/2017/232 ).

Another good example, I believe, is Ergo, a really operating Proof-of-Work cryptocurrency I'm working on https://github.com/ergoplatform/ergo .

If you want to ask me any questions about:

Thank you Alexander.

I was considering a non searchable solution or a searchable index associated with a non searchable hashed data.

Can you help me get access to the PoC your group is working on? Just point me in the right direction for the code would be great.

I work for a cryptocurrency company called Lunes. It's a Brazillian Blockchain company from São Paulo.

We need to understand how this sort of structure work so we can implement some business solution.

Well, thanks for the reply. Please let me know if you need detailed information about our project.

Yours,

Hi, Ronaldo.

Thanks for the interesting. I'm going to publish a plan for final 2.0 release in coming days. Would be good to know projects using Scorex (2.0).

On storing sensitive data on the blockchain, first of all you need to decide why do you want to put such data into a shared infrastructure, assign roles to network participants and then consider a security model. Please note that some advanced schemes in this field (searchable encryption etc) are often going to be broken, sometimes years after being introduced. So please be cautious about that.

Sincerely, kushti

For inclusion in and addition to Scorex, eventually, I would assume....

Hi Manjot,

A Tutorial on Scorex can be found here: https://github.com/ScorexFoundation/ScorexTutorial

I would also recommend having a look at the “examples” folder (https://github.com/ScorexFoundation/Scorex/blob/master/examples/README.md). There is an example of a blockchain system using a hybrid proof of work and proof of stake consensus algorithm there.

Cheers,

Bruno

Hi!

Please note, that this version is not supported anymore, please use Scorex 2: https://github.com/ScorexFoundation/Scorex

Re: balance calculation

Hi,

The code that you mentioned does not exist in Scorex 2 anymore.  Is there a reason why you are using Scorex-1.2.8 instead of Scorex 2 ?

Cheers,

balance calculation

pengmingguo@...

Hi
   I am using Scorex-1.2.8 to build my own blocktrain. I read the source code, but I can not understand the balance calculation code in StoredState.scala:122.

def loop(hh: Int, min: Long = Long.MaxValue): Long = {
val row = accountChanges(address).get(hh)
require(Option(row).isDefined, s"accountChanges($address).get($hh) is null. lastStates.get(address)=$h")
if (hh <= requiredHeight) Math.min(row.state.balance, min)
else if (row.lastRowHeight == 0) 0L
else loop(row.lastRowHeight, Math.min(row.state.balance, min))
}
In my opinion, the most recent balance of an account it just the last row.state.balance? Why here need recursive traverse the blocktrain, especially why Math.min(row.state.balance, min)?

hope anyone can tell me.

Hi Alexander,

Thank you for your kind reply!

I'll read the paper and try what you explained.

Re: What should be done to mine something in Lagonaki

Hi Andy!

Thanks for the interest!

Lagonaki is an implementation of Permacoin consensus protocol (by A. Miller et al. http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/stamp/stamp.jsp?arnumber=6956582). Permacoin's goal is to store a fixed dataset across the network. Thus a trusted dealer needed to announce the dataset and spread it to miners initially.

Thus you need to run a dealer node and then other nodes will download chunks of the set from it and then start mining. Mining is enabled by default.

Sincerely, Alexander.

What should be done to mine something in Lagonaki

Andy Lee

Hi folks,

I'm a newbie in blockchain technology and I was looking for something for study more deeply.

Scorex looks great especially trying something with less effort. So I downloaded Lagonaki and managed to run two local nodes and those seemed working fine. But I have a few following questions.

1. What is the purpose of settings-dealer.json file? Is there other working mode or something on Lagonaki?

2. Do I need any other client to start mining? Or just let those node working expecting it to mine something?

Sorry for my silly questions. Any comment will be welcomed and appreciated.

Have a nice day!
